I was asked to design a souvenir for a festival. But I personally never buy or give a conventional souvenir because they usually don't hold much value to me.
So I created a ‘souvenir’ I could stand by; a bracelet that I wore to produce as many souvenirs as needed and for free.
It is inspired on the technical
aspect of a bearing, where the outer and inner ring can turn separately. I used bronze because of its natural greasing property.
With the bracelet I stamped the visitors ‘temporary friends’. The stamp faded over time, so that the real souvenir -the memory of the act of getting the stamp on this festival- remained.
